A dirty dryer vent can be a nuisance. ?It can cause your clothes to need two or three cycles to get completely dry, but that's not the biggest problem. ?Even if you clean the lint screen on your dryer between every use, it doesn't catch everything. ?A significant amount of lint bypasses the screen and makes its way through the fan and into the ducting that leads from the dryer to the outside of your house. ?This lint builds up over time and is extremely flammable. ?Below is a link to a Dateline NBC video highlighting the dangers associated with dryer lint. ?Admittedly, it's a few years old and the video quality is pretty poor but it gets the right point across.
